Latest global military reports indicate that the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) personnel have seized at least 152 weapons and 35,325 rounds of ammunition during an operation conducted in Nangarhar province.
Corresponding report by the Nangarhar provincial government media office, the weapons and ammunition were seized from a trailer vehicle during a search operation in Behsud district.
The statement further added that the Afghan security forces conducted a search operation in Nawi Gomrok area on Tuesday night and found the weapons and ammunition hidden among the cement bags.
According to the provincial government, at least 146 different types of pistols and 6 machines guns were among the weapons seized by the security forces.
The provincial government also added that the terrorists Taliban wanted to distribute the weapons to different parts of Nangarhar province for the destructive activities.
Taliban terrorists and jihadists affiliated with the Islamic State terror group (ISIS) are active in some remote parts of the province and often carry out insurgency activities.
