Some 300 Afghan pilots are being trained in different countries. According to the Afghan air force, the 300 pilots are expected to boost and enhance Afghan military aviation operations upon their return.
The revelation was made at a seminar in the US where several senior officials from defense and interior ministries attended on Monday. The Afghan Ambassador Dr. Hamdullah Mohib commended Afghan and coalition forces for their counter terrorism campaign.
Dr. Mohib said reforms at the Afghan defense ministry had helped bolster battlefield capabilities of the Afghan forces in their fight against insurgency.
He added that Afghan Air Force was being strengthened and revealed that some 300 pilots were receiving training in Afghanistan, the US and some other countries. The Afghan Air Force (AAF) would be beefed up with the return of trained pilots, he concluded.
