President Uhuru Kenyatta of the Republic of Kenya will be a free man in a weeks time after ICC judges ordered ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda to withdrawal the case in 7 days or they step in and withdrawal it themselves.
According to the International Criminal Court officers, the judges Wednesday gave the prosecutor seven days to withdraw it if she does not have the evidence to go to trial citing she did not have sufficient evidence to prove that Mr Kenyatta was guilty of crimes against humanity.
The court is also not sure whether she has gathered new evidence from government and Mr Kenyatta’s records and if any, it would be enough to convict.
The court warned that if indeed the OTP has nothing new or anything tangible and admissible to court and she fails to withdraw the case in 7 days, then the 3 judges will have no choice but to intervene and withdraw the case themselves.
