2 UN peacekeepers from the Burkina Faso military were killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up inside a United Nations base in northern Mali, intelligence sources report.
According to U.N. peacekeeping mission (MINUSMA) 2 UN peacekeepers died and 9 others were badly wounded when a patrol base in Northern Mali was attacked by a suicide bomber.
A vehicle laden with explosives and drove by a suicide bomber exploded next to the base in the village of Ber, about 60 km (40 miles) east of the desert city of Timbuktu, MINUSMA confirmed.
Military officials confirmed that the two UN troops killed on Saturday morning were from Burkina Faso military serving the MINUSMA
