In the Hiran region the Somali National Army (SNA) alongside ATMIS forces have successfully conducted joint operations that resulted in the liberation of Aboorey Village from the Al-Qaeda affiliated terrorists.
Hiran prefecture of central Somalia has witnessed surge in Al-Shabaab attacks prompting even locals joining counterterrorism operations in a number of villages that have been under the control of the terrorists. With support from ATMIS, the Somali Security Forces are protecting civilians in the recently liberated areas and are securing critical infrastructure including roads and water sources.
This phase of the military comb-up operation has witnessed developments on the security front Somali security forces supported by ATMIS forces have proved their increasing capabilities to attack, win and hold ground on liberated villages and localities especially in central and southern prefectures of Somalia.
