At least 21 people were killed by ISCAP in the locality of Biakato in Ituri Province. The victims were killed and abandoned by the militants in Alima and Laliya Villages. The death toll was confirmed by Gilbert Sivamwenda, president of the Biakato civil society, who confirmed the death toll of 14 civilians whose corpses were found in the bushes.
In another onslaught in the neighboring province of North Kivu; at least 10 people were killed by the militants in the villages located west of Oicha.
According to intelligence, the victims were mostly hacked to death before the militants retreated to their recently established bases located between the territories of Beni, Irumu, and Mambasa.
Despite the military’s intervention, the militants continue to attack and brutally kill civilians, loot for supplies, and wreak havoc in villages and towns in the two provinces.
