At least ten Al-Shabaab fighters were killed and six others captured in a military operation that took place on the outskirts of Jamame town, southern Somalia on March 9.
The joint military operation by Somali National troops and Jubaland Forces was targeted Al-Shabaab strongholds on the outskirts of Jamame district where the Al-Qaeda associated militant group has continued to mount stiff resistance against security forces resulting in casualties.
Military officials confirmed that the intelligence led operation killed at least 10 Al-Shabaab members and captured six others, vowing to continue carrying out operations in an effort to stem down the group’s terror activity in many parts of southern Somalia.
The captured militants are expected to help security forces with vital intelligence regarding the terror group’s operations around Jamame town and its surrounding areas.
