While the Al-Qaeda affiliate, Al-Shabaab continue to stage attacks from across the regions of Somalia, same way, the Islamist militant group also continue to suffer huge losses in military operatives and in theater.
On June 22. at least 17 Al-Shabaab operatives were killed in separate military operations conducted in Middle Shabelle and Lower Shabelle regions of Somalia in part of the ongoing operation aimed at flushing the militants from across the regions of the war-torn country.
During the operations, military sources reported that weapons ranging from small to sophisticated weapons were confiscated besides destructions of some of their bases.
The military operations were conducted in Ali Fooldhere, Qurac Madobe and Warahley localities. On Tuesday evening Somali Police Special Unit Haramcad captured 3 Al-Shabaab operatives and their vehicle after probe attempt to attack the checkpoint of security forces guarding the construction of the road between Mogadishu and Afgoye.
