Multiple Precision airstrike by an unidentified aircraft struck 3 Al-Qaeda branch in Somalia, Harakat Shabaab al-Mujahideen positions in Gedo Region of the restive Horn Nation between 16th and 17TH May 2020.
Airstrikes hit the general area of Meeri, Laf-Geri, and Dec-Curbes over the weekend resulting heavy casualties. In Meeri, 13 militants were killed and a technical vehicle destroyed while at Laf-Geri, 9 militants were taken out and the camp destroyed.
At Dec Curbes on 17th May 2020 at 2245Hrs EAT, 7 militants were killed and 8 others were injured but were evacuated to El-Adde by the terror group operatives early Monday (18th May 2020).
The airstrikes degraded the terror group’s capability to conduct cross border attacks in neighboring Kenya as well as its capacity to target AMISOM troop’s camps in the SECTOR.
