Allied Democratic forces (ADF) that is part of the IS-central Africa province (ISCAP) has killed at least 19 people in eastern Congo. The raid occurred overnight in the village of Maleki, near the city of Oicha in a forested region near the Ugandan border.
ADF has killed at least 80 people in over 14 raids since the army launched an operation against them late last month. The terrorist group has been accelerating their attacks in the Beni region despite active and heavy military peacekeepers presence in the region. Earlier in the week, residents demonstrated to express their anger over the UN Mission’s inactivity as the people of Beni suffer the losses.
According to recent reports by SI analysts, the ADF has been replenishing its resources, recruiting fighters and training them in the heavily forested areas. Additionally, the ADF is quite unreachable seeing as it exploits the rough terrain as well as almost no media presence which makes it rather difficult to estimate how big the group is as well as its weaponry capabilities.
