The U.S. army on Wednesday 17th September 2019 confirmed that it killed two (2) Al-Shabaab fighters in an airstrike conducted in the northwest of Kismayu, Lower Jubba region of Somalia.
According to the Africa Command (AFRICOM) the airstrike pounded on Al-Shabaab extremists after they attacked a Somali army patrol, northwest of Kismayo, Lower Juba Province, Somalia.
Report of the airstrike comes amid heightened military offensives by joint forces in the Lower Jubba. The Military Intelligence assets in Somalia said on Wednesday it killed 15 fighters near Afmadow on Tuesday 16th September 2019 in a joint offensive with Jubbaland state forces.
In a related development, SNA supported by allied AMISOM forces killed a senior Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab commander alongside a bomb’s expert in Hiran region Tuesday.
