Kurdish forces in northern Syria have arrested a Portuguese ISIS extremist from London believed to have been on the run for years. The terrorists identified as Nero Saravia is 33 years old and believed to be one of the most important foreign recruits in ISIS.
Nero has been involved in kidnappings and executions of Western hostages held by ISIS his atrocities within the terror organization saw him promoted to be the commander of foreign fighters. Saravia is currently known as Abu Yaqub al-Andalusi.
Saraiva was arrested by the Kurdish forces, putting an end to his seven-year journey which started in Walthamstow northeast of London, and ended in ISIS territory, where he married five women, and fathered 10 children.
Nero is among the very first foreign fighters to arrive in Syria at the helm of the ISIS insurgency in Syria. His arrest is very instrumental as he has a lot of information that would lead to the dismantling of IS networks and the neutralizing or capture of the group’s leaders.
Nero worked closely with Jihadi John the infamous ISIS beheader that conducted several high-profile beheadings of foreign hostages kidnapped by ISIS. Saraiva is one of six friends from Waltham Forest who joined ISIS after being radicalized in London.
