US airstrikes killed 8 Taliban combatants and destroying a truck bomb in Ghazni province in Afghanistan. The airstrikes were confirmed by 203rd Thunder Corps of the Afghan Military.
The airstrikes occurred in Ahad area of Geru and Bashi area of Andar district where the Taliban have been present and launching attacks from. The airstrikes destroyed a Ford ranger truck that was laden with explosives and believed to be a part of an elaborate attack plot.
Among the 8 militants killed were three suicide bombers who were ridding in another truck and believed to be en route to conducts attacks on an unknown target. The Taliban has been conducting attacks in Afghanistan, recently a spike in the number of attacks either on civilian or security apparatus targets have seen a considerable spike.
