The Afghan security forces conducted 109 Joint and Special Operations against the militant groups in the past 24 hours. This was according to the Defense ministry that are meant to suppress the extent of various terrorist organizations in the Middle Eastern country.
Moreover, there was an aerial campaign to support the ground operations that killed 79 militants and wounded 57 others. The operations were conducted in Khost, Kunduz, Kandahar, Faryab, Ghor, Parwan, Takhar, Badghis, Ghazni, Helmand, Nangarhar, Zabul, Balkh and Sar-e-Pul provinces.
In recent months intelligence reports have indicated that al Qaeda and Islamic State have been regrouping in the country and conducting attacks against both security and civilian positions.
