Thursday, 4th July 2019, a military court in Mogadishu has sentenced Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, an Al-Shabaab operative 15 years of jail term.
The military court division in Mogadishu handed the verdict that Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed was guilty of belonging to the Al-Qaeda affiliate Al-Shabaab responsible for countless deaths to security forces and citizenry from various regions of Somalia.
According to reports proving in building the case, Mohamed joined Al-Shabaab terrorist group in August 2018 and was based in Mogadishu. He was tasked for delivering light weapons to the assailants at their hiding places in the capital Mogadishu.
Mohamed Abdullahi used to deliver the weapons from Lower Shabelle region to their safe-house in the capital Mogadishu.
Security forces intercepted and arrested Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed on February this year in Mogadishu while he was carrying a bag with pistols and other light weaponry. The military court chairman Col. Hassan Noor Shute said the court found Mohamed Abdullahi for guilty of various charges and handed over the 15-year jail sentences in accordance with the law
