Several Ethiopian soldiers serving under AMISOM were killed by a roadside improvised explosive device (RIED) in Bardale area in Bay region of Somalia.
The Somali terrorist group, Shabaab Mujahideen issued a statement claiming it carried out the attack. The terror group claimed it killed 7 soldiers after its elements detonated the IED targeting the military convoy between Baidoa and Bardale towns in Bay.
AMISOM Has not issued a statement to provide insight on the incident. The terror group often provides exaggerated incident reports to amplify the psychological effects of such incidents.
