Scores of anti-government armed terror militants have been killed in separate military operations conducted by the Afghan and Coalition Forces in the past 24 hours.
According to Afghan military sources, a coalition airstrike conducted in support of Afghan Special Forces killed at least 4 Taliban fighters in Qaisar district of Faryab province. While another coalition airstrike conducted in Baraki Barak district of Logar province in defense of soldiers on the ground, targeted and killed 4 Taliban fighters.
Afghan Special Forces separately conducted a ground offensive in Jaji district of Paktia province killing 2 Taliban fighters. The sources further added that Afghan Special Forces conducted a separate raid in Sangin district of Helmand province killing 20 Taliban fighters and destroying 23 IEDs, 1 mortar round and a large amount of home-made explosives.
The raid also saw 4 pressure plates, 3 remote control initiators and over 1,000 pounds of ammonium nitrate destroyed.
Two coalition air strikes near Tarin Kot city of Uruzgan province killed 10 Taliban fighters, the sources added.
