A military court in Somalia has executed two Al Shabaab assassins accused of executing a traditional elder in Mogadishu. The assassins identified as Ali Hassan 25, and Abdirahman Isse Ali 22 were reportedly caught red-handed to the police after they killed elder Hilowle Heefow Hussein.
According to evidence presented the two murdered the elder in 2018 in the Wadajir district of the country’s capital. The two were executed by a firing squad a common mode of executions especially of convicted al Shabaab members.
The judicial system in Somalia has renewed its commitment to ensuring that arrested a Shabaab militants in Somalia are prosecuted to the full extent of the law to discourage people from joining the terror organization.
