Al-Shabaab and the Islamic State Somalia continue with their rivalry battles with Al-Shabaab faction killing it own fighter in militant-held Jilib district in Middle Jubba for allegedly having links with pro-ISIS wing operating in northern Somalia.
The Al-Shabaab militant was executed publicly in what is seen as move to send fear to other groups’ fighters not to have links or work with their rival group.
Reports indicate that the militant killed on Monday was a foreign fighter identified as Abu Anas Al-Misri from Egypt
The Al-Qaeda linked militant group also arrested several Somali and foreign Al-Shabaab fighters in an operation which is part of a crack down on elements trying to join ISIS affiliate (Islamic State Somalia faction).
There is a tension brewing between fighters within Al-Shabaab militant group fighting to topple the UN-backed Somali Federal Government in Mogadishu and those of the Islamic State Somalia.
The ISIS affiliate faction recently declared war on Al-Shabaab saying it started the war by killing a number of its operatives and now it come for theirs.
