Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has arrested an al Shabaab operative following a series of operation in the country’s capital, Mogadishu. The arrested individual is believed to have been an al Shabaab bomb expert in Mogadishu.
According to the agency, the suspected man was plotting a bomb attack on civilian targets in the capital. The move comes amid Somali military backed by AMISOM forces intensified operations against Al-Shabaab fighters in Southern Somalia.
In the past. Al Shabaab has used explosive as a more preferred mode of attack especially within Somalia’s capital and bombs set up the al Shabaab is among the leading cause 0of casualties especially among civilians in Somalia.
