Somali National Army (SNA) killed six Al-Shabaab militants and a recovered a cache of assorted weapons after close quarter battle with the militants 1 kilometer to Burhakaba town in Bay region of southern Somalia.
According to Mohamed Ibrahim Nor, the Governor of Burhakaba town, the militants staged an attacked the army base near the town, but were resisted.
Nor also confirmed that weaponry including four guns and hand grenades were recovered after fighting that lasted about an hour, in Lug-habar location, along the road which joins Burhakaba and Baidoa town.

He said the Somali National Army (SNA) conducted the operation against Al-Shabaab militants in the area after getting information that the Al-Qaeda linked militants had mounted a checkpoint in the area used to collect forced Zakat on transporters/civilians.
