Jubbaland state leader, Ahmed Madoobe visited troops on the front line in the newly captured areas from Al-Shabaab near the port city of Kismayo.
Madoobe made a surprise visit in Bar-Sanguuni village hours after Al-Shabaab clashed with Somali forces and U.S. Special Forces in the area.
Though 25 militants were killed, one U.S. forces was killed in the enemy fire while four others were wounded. The four were airlifted for treatment in Kenya.
Madoobe visit was aimed at assessing security situation in areas under Jubbaland forces supported by Somali government forces and foreign troops including U.S. Special Forces. Additionally, the visit was a morale booster to the troops.
