A US drone strike in eastern Nangarhar managed to kill eleven Islamic State (IS).
The attack happened in Ghulam Dak area of Chaparhar district.
The airstrike also left two IS militants wounded and three vehicles were destroyed, the statement added.
A report by the province government office makes note of the fact that at least two heroin labs belonging to the militants were destroyed in a separate airstrike conducted by the Afghan Air Force.
Further operations have been launched in Bati Kot district and several areas have been cleared of the militants and militant activity.
