Iraqi army with the backing of paramilitary troops killed two Islamic State militants and injured four other in Diyala’s Jalawla.
In January 2015, Iraqi forces were able to liberate the province of Dilaya from Islamic state militants.
The province has seen months of fighting between Iraqi troops and IS militants especially in the Jalawla and Saadiyah areas in the province’s north and areas near the town of Muqdadiyah.
Iraq declared victory on Islamic State in December with the help of the U.S forces and have retaken all territory captured by the extremists in 2014 and 2015
