Nigerian Army has received a cache of support arms from the Czech Republic in a bid to enhance the counterinsurgency operations in the North East, as well as other operations in troubled spots across the country.
The Nigerian army took delivery of different caliber ammunition, spare parts, rockets, and projectiles to boost the war against Boko Haram. Brig.-Gen. Olufemi Akinjobi, the Chairman of the Arms and Ammunition Reception Committee, told newsmen at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja that more weaponry were being expected from other countries.
Further, The Nigerian military in the past has received 16 armored vehicles, including T-72 tanks, from the Czech Republic in order to help it in the battle against Boko Haram militants.
