Three most wanted Al-Shabaab operatives were over the weekend killed in Somali-SF led operation in a village in Lower Shabelle region of Somalia.
Military reports indicate that the attack took place near Leego village in Lower Shabelle region, where Al-Shabaab had checkpoints to collect money from the locals to boost their operations.
According to Danab Special Forces commander, the army following on intelligence tip raided the illegal checkpoint and destroyed another Al-Shabaab base that was a few kilometers from the checkpoint. Unconfirmed number of militants reported to have been killed and assortment of weapons recovered.
Somali forces have intensified their security operations against the Al-Qaeda (AQ)affiliated group, Al-Shabaab, which remains a dangerous terror outfit in the horn of Africa nation.
