Intelligence indicates that Saudi Arabia is in Talk with the US to send troops to Syria to support the US-led coalition fighting ISIS to stabilize the country. This comes after the US Donald Trump’s administration said it was seeking to assemble an Arab force, including troops from Saudi Arabia and the UAE, to help restore stability in Syria.
Riyadh has suggested that it could help counter-terrorism operations in some other theaters of conflict as part of a wider Muslim alliance. For example, a Saudi-backed Islamic military coalition will provide logistical, intelligence and training to a new West African counter-terrorism force.
The willingness of Saudi Arabia to send troops Syria is going to be a welcome move seeing as the crisis has destabilized the larger Middle East region and as such an all-hands-on-deck approach is crucial to defeating ISIS.
