The Federal Government of Somalia soldiers have arrested seven traditional elders in Buloburde town, in central Hiiraan region of the country. The seven were accused of both, directly and indirectly, funding the terror group in the town located 200Km north of Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu.
Intelligence reports reveal that the seven were taken into custody as a measure to decimate the terror organization’s operations in the area and country as a large. Traditional elders have been arrested in the past for being collaborators and financiers of the terror organization in the past.
Despite the arrest causing tensions in Buloburde, security agencies have maintained that security has been maintained. The Somali-based group of Al Shabaab still hold swaths of parts in central Somalia’s Hiiraan region.
