Several people believed to have been injured after mortar shell explosion were heard at Wardhigley, near the stadium, Bar Ayan, and surrounding areas in Mogadishu.
The explosions believed to be orchestrated by the al Qaeda branch in Somalia, al Shabaab. Security personnel have been deployed to deal with situation. However, caution is advised to members of the public.
The city of Mogadishu has been under heavy security presence since the twin suicide bombs in capital last week. Checkpoints have been erected in the city to enhance security.
