Kenya’s General Service Unit (GSU) and Administration Police officers have arrested three al Shabaab militants Ijara, Wajir. The three militants were part of a cell that was targeting the police camps in the region. The joint operation foiled the imminent attacks on two police stations in Wajir County.
Intelligence reports indicate the terrorists fired at the camps, but the attack was botched by the gallant officers of the police stations in Ijara. The militants were pursuit hot by the officers after they attempted to escape leading to the arrest of three militants.
Security officers in the greater Kenya’s NEP have been on high alert in recent weeks which has ensured that attacks by the militants have been averted and terror operatives neutralized or arrested.
