Police in Uganda have arrested Mr. Paul Rodgers Mathias, an American with possession of heavy military weapons and detained him in Jinja District. According to sources within the police in Uganda, the Rodgers is likely to get charged with smuggling of guns and terrorism seeing as the weapons, ammunition, combat knives and other materials recovered in his possession are only available to the country’s military.
Anti-terrorism police are looking into his previous countries of travel to trace the origin of the weapons seeing as he is a repeat offender. It is alleged that the weapons recovered would have been on their way to the hands of terrorists and local militias and gangs that terrorize residents in Uganda.
The East African Country has been a target by terrorist with weapons locally sourced or smuggled into the country which has prompted stringent anti-terrorism laws.
