Latest military reports indicate that Puntland Security Forces (PSF) fired several mortars at Al-Shabaab hideouts in the Galgala Mountains on Monday.
In a statement PSF claimed to have killed more than two dozen militants and destroyed bases during the bombing.
In the past week, some Puntland soldiers were killed by Al-Shabaab, who laid siege on their military base in Galgala Mountains.
In the past few days, Puntland vowed to step up combat against the Al-Shabaab extremists to clean up its held areas in the Galgala Mountains. In the past operations over 100 militants whom included minors have been arrested in counter operations in Galgala hideouts.
