A man who recently mowed down pedestrians and stabbed a police officer in Wednesday’s assault outside Britain parliament has been identified as Khalid Masood.
Masood, 52, is a British citizen and a former convict. Born on Christmas Day in 1964 in Kent southeast England, Masood goes with several other aliases according to London's Metropolitan Police.
According to Police reports, Masood who was brought by a single parent in Rye, southern English Coast chalked up a range of convictions for assault related crimes. Has also been convicted over possession of offensive weapons.
According to a statement by British Prime Minister Theresa May, Masood was once investigated by the intelligence service MI5 in relation to concerns about violent extremism.
Police reports and referenced by British Media indicated that, Khalid Masood, a Muslim convert was ISIS inspired lone wolf attacker.
Islamic State after the heinous attack that left at least three killed including one police officer and 40 others wounded claimed responsibility saying Masood was one of their ‘soldiers’.
