A roadside IED believed to have been planted by Al-Shabaab targeted a military convoy of Jubbaland plying MSR near Kismayo city Monday 20/2/2017 evening.
According to reports from witnesses and referenced by open sources, the IED blast tore on vehicle at Abdalla-Birole area, about 60Km west of Kismayo town.
The IED is reportedly tore a military vehicle carrying about 20 soldiers. Unconfirmed reports indicate of possible casualties.
Al-Shabaab of late has resulted in the use of VBIEDs and planting of roadside IEDs targeting military forces supply routes.
