Al-Qaeda’s offshoot in Yemen has asked its followers to come out and fight back on the U.S following the recent raid by American commandos that left senior terrorist figures in the group killed.
Al-Qaeda in Yemen suffered huge blows after its fighters launched attacks on a territory held by internationally backed government, over 30 terror operatives were neutralized by American commandos. Also, U.S lost one its Navy Seal soldier in the battlefield.
According to a translation received from SITE Intelligence Group, AQAP’s leader Qasim al-Raymi referred to his fighters battling U.S forces in Iraq and Afghanistan and Somalia as ‘lions’ in the battlefield. He called on all the followers to step up attacks in the land of America boasting of the raids they have accomplished in the named countries.
“Burn the land beneath their feet and make them hear the whispers of Satan,” Mr. Raymi urged, referring to President Donald Trump as “the new fool of the White House.”
U.S Special Forces Unit conducted an attack on an AQAP compound iun the remote part of central Yemen on January 29 inflicting heavy losses to the Al-Qaeda terror group.
This raid was authorized by the new U.S President, Donald Trump. It was his first operation as the commander in chief.
AQAP through its propaganda media wing admitted that the raid killed its senior commanders Abdulraoof al-Dhahab and Sultan al-Dhahab but also claimed the raid also killed civilians, men, women and children.
Security Experts have warned that AQAP would try to exploit the raid to drum up anti-American feelings, as Mr. Raymi is doing, and attract more recruits.
