AMISOM convoy near Mahaday on Tuesday was targeted in a roadside IED by suspected Harakat Shabaab Muhajideen (HSM) operatives.
Two roadside IED missed by a whisker armored convoy of AMISOM vehicles transporting Burundian soldiers near Mahaday district in middle Shabelle region.
Suspected Al-Shabaab operatives detonated the planted IED via remote control but missed their target.
The IED were planted between Mirtuugo and Biyo-Adde areas, located in the outskirts of Mahaday town.
There were no reports of the casualties on Burundian soldiers serving with the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) as a result of the IED blast. All soldiers on the convoy were accounted for.
Humiliated Al-Shabaab also did not claimed the futile IED attack.
