Latest military reports referenced by Somalia media indicate that foreign warplanes have pounded on an Al-Shabaab camp in Lower Shabelle region of southern Somalia.
The foreign warplanes are believed to belong to U.S military in Somalia.
In the latest string of air assaults on the militants’ camp, the foreign military attack helicopters raided Al-Shabaab’s Ibrahim Ali Berre camp situated about 120 miles north-west of the capital Mogadishu.
Open sources have reported that several Al-Shabaab fighters including foreign middle level commanders were arrested in a ground military operation at Ibrahim Ali Berre near Tararow district after the airstrike.
Kenya and U.S are known to use warplanes to hit at Al-Shabaab camps in Somalia. U.S. also works closely with SNA and AMISOM troops in providing advice and strategies to defeat the militants group.
In recent months, U.S military forces have been targeting Al-Shabaab bases in various regions in Somalia. Their drone strikes also have successfully killed many senior leaders of the group.
