According to media reports, General Muhiyaden Ahmed Muse, a former Puntland deputy police boss was appointed as chief of counter terrorism, according to a presidential decree issued on November 06, 2016.
General Muhiyaden, the new counter terrorism chief will coordinate Puntland state's effort to avert and preempt terrorists' attacks and activities of radicalization.
The new CT boss is a military man. In March this year, he headed the battle between Puntland forces and Al-Shabaab terrorists in Suuj and Garmaal areas of Nugal region.
The post of counter-terrorism chief was created this year by President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali according to media sources.
