Somali army backed by south west state troops have managed to recapture Tiyeglow district in Bakool region, southwest of Somalia on Tuesday following a pull-out of the Al Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab terrorists.
According to Mohamed Abdalla Hassan, the district commissioner of Tiyeglow, Al-Shabaab terrorists abandoned the town without resistance and after learning the joint troops from SNA and South West State were narrowing down on them.
Following a tactical withdrawal by Somali troops and Ethiopian soldiers last month, Al-Shabaab boasted of gaining control of the town.
