Somali security Forces in Baladweyne on Saturday launched a major operation to hunt down perpetrators linked to the killing of two police officers.
The operation was wrapped up in Baladweyne’s key neighbourhoods including Buunda-weyn and Hawlwadaag villages in an effort to capture suspects.
During the operation, the security forces managed to seize multiple suspects and recovering terror weapons.
Regional level security has been scaled-up in the region as Somali based militants Al-Shabaab have stepped up attacks against the Somali forces and the AMISOM troops in the country.
