Suspected ISIS ‘Motorbike Bomb’ Blast in Turkey’s Istanbul Wounds TenA bomb that detonated targeted a police station but ended up injuring 10 people in Istanbul Turkey, according to the city's governor.
Vasip Şahin, the city governor on Twitter said the explosion caused by a motorcycle filled with IEDs detonated near a police station injuring 10 people.
The blast took place in Istanbul’s Yenibosna neighborhood in the Turkish capital’s European part.
The blast is said to have been so strong that it was heard at Ataturk airport, some five kilometers away, various media reported, citing witnesses.
The area was immediately cordoned off by security forces to prevent the possibility of another explosion. Those injured were rushed to various hospitals for treatment.
Bomb disposal squads and emergency crews were dispatched to the scene. The IED was reportedly detonated through remote control.
So far the police have been able to examine CCTV footage and have identified a suspected who fled the site immediately after the attack.
