Libyan pro-government forces are making progress in edging out ISIS in the Sirte held city.
Libyan military source indicate that Forces loyal to the unity government are successfully advancing and seizing more territory in the northern city of Sirte.
The recent U.S. airstrikes have strengthened the military advancements according to the pro-government spokesperson, Reda Issa.
The source also indicates the U.S. warplanes carried out seven aerial assaults against the Islamic State (Daesh) on Monday and Tuesday causing huge losses to the militants.
The Libyan forces have been battling to oust ISIS militants from the town, which has been considered as a stronghold for the extremists after taking over the city in June 2015 following the fall of Muammar Gaddafi.
The loss of Libyan city of Sirte would be a major blow to the ISIS militants, who have also faced a series of setbacks in Syria and Iraq.
