Military intelligence reports show that an improvised explosive device detonated and decommissioned a Kenya army (KDF) troop carrier-vehicle (TC-V) in Kiunga border point in Lamu County.
There are no reports of injuries connoting the IED didn’t destroy the armor of the troop vehicle.
Initial intelligence assessment on the incident show the Al-Qaeda affiliate Al-Shabaab is responsible for the IED attack.
The army (KDF) has not issued a statement nor has the terror group Al-Shabaab which has cells in the area.
