
South African Police on Saturday arrested four terror suspects attempting to fly to Syria.
The four who were arrested in Johannesburg will face charges related to terrorism, police source said on Sunday.
“We stopped them from flying to Syria and the airline concerned was also informed and they were refused access,” said Hangwani Mulaudzi, spokesman for the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, popularly known as the Hawks.
There arrested included three men and one woman to taken to court Monday 11th July 2016, two in Johannesburg and two in the Kagiso Magistrate’s Court west of Johannesburg.
Many terror suspects are usually intercepted trying to get to Syria, the home base of the Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS).
