During Eid celebrations in Rwanda, the Mufti of Rwandan Muslims Salim Hitimana announced ban to all Muslim women in the country to refrain from wearing full faced Niqab (veils) for security reasons.
The High Council of Muslims in Rwanda banning Niqab has been welcomed by security agents citing the veil has been used by terrorists across the world compromising security.
Salim cited the Holy Quran states “Women to cover all parts of the body but not their faces and the hands”
Rwanda National Police (RNP) issued a statement after the ban supporting the decision aimed at ensuring maximum security for the Rwandan populous.
