Nuseiba Mohammed Haji the wife of an Islamic State (IS) terrorist group leader Mohammed Abdi Ali linked to plotting a bio-attack (anthrax attack) in Kenya yesterday was arraigned in a Nairobi court.
Nuseiba Mohammed Haji, believed to be a member of Islamic State was arrested alongside her friend as they were trying to escape authorities in Uganda where she has been a medical student at Mubende Hospital.
She was arraigned in court in Nairobi where to answer charges for collaborating with Mohammed Abdi Ali who was also arrested on April 29 at Wote county hospital in Makueni.
Mohammed Abdi Ali, a doctor has been working at the hospital and used different names.
Warrant of arrests have been issued for other two associates Ahmed Hish and Farah Dagne, also medics in Kitale who so far are on the run after learning police were hunting them.
Prosecution told the court that the suspects are alleged to have engaged in a series of terror activities in the country and at the time of arrest, electronic devices, phones and a laptop were seized.
The prosecution alleged that the suspects collaborated of planning large-scale attacks using anthrax — a bacteria that can sicken or kill people.
Court ordered for a 30 day for police to complete investigations. Prosecutor called on the court to detain Nuiseba at the Anti- Terror Police Unit while investigations continue.
