Latest military report from Somalia, SNA backed by AMISOM troops managed to repel a large would be attack by Al-Shabaab fighters targeting AMISOM military base near Bardheere town.
Corresponding reports from residents say heavy blasts and gunfire were heard as dozens of armed Al-Shabaab fighters attacked allegedly attacked checkpoints manned by AMISOM and military bases before troops repulsed them killing four.
The attackers (Al-Shabaab) reportedly have started to encroach the strategic town of Bardheere, which SNA and AMISOM troops recaptured in July 2015.
The Islamic group which is fighting to topple the Western-backed government carries attacks on military targets and crowded civilians facilities like hotels and restaurants especially in Somali’s capital Mogadishu.
Al-Shabaab hugely has been dented by SNA and AMISOM operations and now the Islamist group facing stiff rivalry from pro-ISIS faction which is fighting them to establish foothold in Somalia.
