
Somali security agents, SNA, NISA and police operations in Somali’s capital Mogadishu have seen 15 Al-Shabaab militants arrested and weapons recovered.
The joint operation which is aimed at pacifying the sea city of Mogadishu and it surrounding localities began on Wednesday 27th April 2016.
According to spokesperson of the Ministry of Internal Security Abdikamil Moalim Shukri, the operation in Daynile district was carried together with African Union peacekeeping forces.
Shukri said the arrest of the 15 Al-Shabaab from their dens was attributed by resident who provided the information before the operation.
Forces from National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) and AMISOM have increased operation against the militant group of Al-Shabaab in renewed effort to restore peace and stability in Mogadishu and across Somalia.
The NISA officers early this week captured senior Al-Shabaab militant, Hassan Fanah from Kahda district in Benadir.
