Pentagon issued a statement confirming it conducted an airstrike on Thursday 31st of March 2016 targeting Hassan Dhore, an Al-Shabaab intelligence commander.
According to Pentagon US DOD through assets in Somalia verified the elimination of Hassan Ali Dhoore, a senior leader of Al-Qaeda branch in Somalia; Harakat Al-Shabaab Al-Mujahideen movement (HSM).
The US and Somalia government gave contradictory accounts on the killing of Dhoore with either claiming the kill.
Pentagons second statement on the subject ends speculation and contestation on who should take credit for the killing of the terror group commander.
