Southwest State security forces intensified operations saw 10 suicide bombing masterminds being arrested.
Security forces launched operations in Bay regional capital of Baidoa and apprehended 10 Al-Shabaab members believed to have been plotting to commit suicide attacks.
Local residents tipped off the police with the hideouts of the militants making the operation a success.
Among the arrested was the garage owner whom authorities accused of aiding terrorist’s plots.
Suicide bombing have been the most preferred method by the militants in committing attacks in Somalia. On February 29, twin suicide blasts left 30 people killed and 60 wounded at a popular restaurant frequented by politicians and foreigners.
Southwest State administration backed by SNA and AMISOM forces has launched coordinated anti-militants campaigns in Baidoa and its outskirts.
